THAT LOST LOVE

I met you five years back,
We were strangers then.
You started talking,
And I replied.

The more I came to know,
The more I liked you,
Every time I talked with you,
My heart raced,
I had butterflies in my stomach,
There was a few similarities
We had between us,
With a few dissimilarities
That could have been sorted out.
There was a frequency,
That could have connected us-
Instead it tore us apart.

Just the way you came in my life,
The same way you took an exit,
Before I could even tell you,
That I love you;
And I became infatuated with the idea of love.
